The Profound Contrast – 19 April 2022, Anno Domini

M Y   God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?  2   O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent .   (Psalm 22:1-2)   I  WILL   declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.  23   Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.  24   For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.  25   My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him .   (Psalm 22:22-25)               In our devotion for yesterday, we looked at the Two Passovers – a contrast between the first that bro...

Two Passovers – 18 April 2022, Anno Domini

Y OUR  lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats:  6   And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.  7   And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.  8   And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it   (Ex 12:5-8)   A ND   it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.  30   And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there w...

AOC Sunday Report - Easter Sunday

Image
Happy Easter! The AOC Sunday Report can be downloaded  RIGHT HERE ! We have a series of really great sermons this morning from Bishops Jerry and Roy, as well as Revs Jack and Bryan! Rev Jack's sermon can be seen on video and downloaded  RIGHT HERE ! There are always a lot of people who need your prayer; today is no exception.  Please start with Jim, Shamu, Wendy, Tricia and work out from there.  Unless you or one of your loved ones have been on the list, you may not understand the importance. Something to think about, if you Google the word Easter, the first four pages of images contain exactly one reference to Christ, the remainder are eggs, rabbits and the like. There's probably less than here. This may explain some of our country's problems. There is an EPIC week ahead, open your heart to the Holy Ghost and experience the week in all its glory. Godspeed, Hap Church of the Faithful Centurion  Descanso, California  United States of America

Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.  59  And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,  60  And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great st...

F OR   even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:  22   Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:  23   Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:  24   Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.  25   For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls .   (1 Peter 2:21-25)               Even in death, our Lord was obedient to the Law. He rested on the Sabbath in the Tomb and arose immediately following the Sabbath. In so doing, the Lord Jesus Christ became OUR Sabbath rest. The old law of the first Testament ended with one word...

The Collect.   A LMIGHTY  God, who through thine only-begotten Son Jesus Christ hast overcome death, and opened unto us the gate of everlasting life; We humbly beseech thee that, as by thy special grace preventing us thou dost put into our minds good desires, so by thy continual help we may bring the same to good effect; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost ever, one God, world without end.   Amen.   ¶  This Collect is to be said daily throughout Easter Week.   The Epistle came from Saint Paul ’ s letter to the Colossians, the Third Chapter, beginning at the First Verse:    I F  ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
